1.0 Welcome to mystoreroom

mystoreroom is a monthly subscription web based utility, available to clients, where they can browse, view, and download images, logos, advertisements, etc. which were specifically designed and created for their exclusive use.

mystoreroom becomes your organisations own private online media storage facility providing you with one centralized location for all your corporate images. Because mystoreroom is an online facility, you can now acccess your media wherever you have a computer connected to the internet. You can also share your media with colleagues on the move.

2.0 How can I start using mystoreroom?

3.0 Logging In

In order to access mystoreroom's Explorer, you need to first login. The login button is at the top right of the page, alongside the Help button.

Once on the login page, enter your credentials which were supplied to you, and click the Login button.

If the login was successful, you will be taken to the mystoreroom Explorer View. This is documented in the following section.

4.0 mystoreroom Explorer

The mystoreroom Explorer is a tool which was designed for speed and simplicity. It has been modelled to behave in a similar fashion to a traditional file explorer.

Following is a description of the Explorer's individual components and how to use them.

4.1 Folder View

The Folder View is the panel on the left of the screen. This panel lists all folders which are contained inside the current directory.

By default, when the Folder View is first loaded, it's directory root will be that the user's root directory, and labelled as such. Fig 4.1.1 illustrates this, i.e. Root

To move into a directory, for example, My Documents, simply click on the directory's link. This will change to the parent directory to My Documents and display a list of available directories within the now current directory.

Going back to the previous directory is a simple as clicking on the parent directory, in the previous example, that would be My Documents (Current).

4.2 File View

File View lists all available files within the current directory. This component allows a user to select files for download, preview images and view information on documents, images, etc. Additionally, the user can switch views between Thumbnail View (default) and Detail View.

These features are described below.

4.2.1 Thumbnail View (default)

The Thumbnail View is the system's default view. It displays small previews of all images as well as icons for known file types, e.g. Word documents, Spreadsheets, etc.

This view also allows for larger image previews of 400 by 400 pixels. Fig 4.2.1.1, 4.2.1.2, 4.2.1.3 illustrate this.

To switch to this view, you only have to click the following icon on the File View toolbar:

4.2.2 Detail View

Detail View displays files in a table format, with columns describing each file.

Columns are Art Name, File Name, Job No, Properties, Size and Date. The date column refers to the date on which the file/graphic was created.

Searching for documents and images is incredibly simple. All that needs to be done is enter the search term into the search box in the File View toolbar, click the search icon, and the search results are there.

File searchs are performed based on the following criteria:

  • Filename (part of)
  • Art name (part of)
  • Description (part of)
  • Job Number (part of)
  • Art Date (full date in the following format: yyyy-mm-dd)

4.4 Download

To download single or multiple files, simply check the check box next to or underneath the file icon. You can select as many files as you want to download.

Once you have selected the desired files, simply click the Download icon on the File View's toolbar and the download will start.

Please note: file downloads are automatically compressed into a zip file. If you have Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7, these files can be opened like a normal folder.

Additional tools for opening and managing zip files are: 7zip and Winzip.

4.5 Delete

To delete single or multiple files, follow the same process as in Section 4.4 above, and simply click the Download icon on the File View's

Please note: Once deleted you will not be able to recover these files unless you contact the system administrator
